Ceramic Blades
are used on fine Chef Knives and Kitchen Cutlery and can now be found on
pocket knives as well. There are two types of ceramic blades: zirconium carbide
(black ceramic) and zirconium oxide (white ceramic). Zirconium is the second
hardest material known to man- next to the diamond. The properties of
ceramic make ceramic knife blades particularly wear and tear resistant. This
means that a ceramic blade can hold its edge much longer than a traditional steel
blade. Ceramic Blades are stain proof and rust proof. The non-stick surface
of a ceramic blade is easy to clean and its light weight quality makes it a
pleasure to use.
